Young people want to have in-depth conversations about difficult subjects. Our discussion guides are resources for high school teachers who want those conversations to happen in their classrooms.

How do you talk and work with people you disagree with? The ability to engage in civil dialogue is a skill that needs to be developed and practiced at a young age. These resources give teachers the information and tools to pose simple questions about complicated topics.

Each discussion guide is made with an active classroom teacher, who helps us select relevant content and the right questions. Each discussion guide pairs content taken from Commonwealth Club archives, with statistics, graphics, and discussion questions.
