Safety, Directions and Parking
Safety Protocols for in-person attendance:
- We follow best practices laid out by the CDC and state and local guidelines.
- We strongly recommend vaccination for guests, staff, and volunteers.
- Masks are encouraged while indoors (if you do not have one and would like one, inquire at our front desk for a complimentary mask).
- We reserve the right to require different rules for specific events as necessary.
Our LEED Gold-certified building is designed to cool with outside air, using digitally controlled moveable windows and large ceiling fans. We are deploying additional HEPA filters inside to scrub the air. This is all in addition to increased cleaning of surfaces throughout the building.
Please note as local and state public health guidelines continue to evolve, The Commonwealth Club of California may adjust guidelines, such as relaxing mask usage as appropriate. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation; we look forward to seeing you soon.

Bike Parking at San Francisco Headquarters
If you ride your bike to The Commonwealth Club's San Francisco headquarters, there are numerous bike racks and bike rental locations nearby.
On The Embarcadero, the nearest racks are right across the street on our side of the Ferry Building (https://www.ferrybuildingmarketplace.com/new-bike-rack-near-old-lagoon/). There are additional bike racks on the plaza side of the Ferry Building (https://www.ferrybuildingmarketplace.com/visit/faq/).
On the block behind our building—on Steuart Street—there are 7 or 8 bike racks, including in front of the entrance to the post office, outside of the Rincon Center entrance, and 2 just a few feet from our Steuart St. entrance.
There are also Ford GoBike rental stations at the end of our block (where Steuart ends at the cul-de-sac), across the street at the Ferry Building, and on Steuart at Market Street.
The Commonwealth Club is not associated with and is not responsible for the operation or the policies of any bike rental companies, nor is it responsible for the security of any bikes parked near our events.
