Debbie Millman and Roxane Gay: Why Design Matters

Harboring the knowledge of more than 400 interviews with industry leaders and holding the same number of accolades herself, Debbie Millman is acutely attuned to how design influences each detail of our lives. Her podcast “Design Matters” is one of the first of its kind, highlighting a common thread of creativity, innovation and intentionality across diverse disciplines and weaving together a story of how design both influences and imitates life.

In her seventh book, Why Design Matters: Conversations with the World’s Most Creative People, Millman once again brings the ethos of "Design Matters" to written and illustrated words. Highlighting 80 interviews, in sub-categories of legends, truth tellers, culture makers, trendsetters, and visionaries, Millman demonstrates the wild beauty and profound importance of designing the life you want.

At INFORUM, Millman will pull back the curtains, giving us insight into what it is like to pick the brains of greats hundreds of times over and prove to us—yet again—why design matters in every iota of our days and lives. This conversation will be moderated by acclaimed New York Times bestselling writer Roxane Gay.
